Massive Mele with Kupuna Mamas and A Magnificent Mahu-Managed Hula Halau (27 JAN 2009)

Aloha again,

yes it has been a while (apologies). We have simply been too busy to blog, but now, 2 island hops and a very busy week later, we're back in business...
As usual - even if I am playing catch-up - each post (regardless of actual publication date) will bear the 'date of occurrence' so you'll be able to follow along chronologically.

Below, you'll see footage from the massive 3-11PM mele (party) the local hotel threw on their second anniversary of the re-opening in 2007. (And we're talking about THE hotel here folks, so E-V-E-R-Y-O-N-E on on the island AND their mother was there!)

Of course we too ran into a good number of familiar faces of friends and acquaintances (some of which will be your future guides if you come out here on one of Camilla's new 'Authentic Hawaii' adventures). Here's Camilla with two fabulous kupuna friends:

And here you'll see a nice slice of the dance performance by one of the big local hula halaus here and the fabulous Mahu in charge of the performance. They take you all the way from Hawaii to Tahiti and even Aotearoa/New Zealand. Awesome stuff all around!!
(Of course YouTube selected all dark thumbnails, but do click on them anyway, because there are some nice gems buried in there!).
